Lot 35:
Description
A single rustic walking stick or cane constructed from a natural wood shaft and a decorative carved handle. The handle is fashioned from highly figured burl wood, featuring a high-gloss polished finish and a hook-shaped profile terminating in a small scrolled point. This handle is joined to a straight shaft that retains its natural mottled bark texture. The shaft is composed of a natural branch, likely hazel or ash. The base of the shaft is a blunt, cut end without a metal or rubber ferrule. No maker marks, labels, or inscriptions are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The walking stick shows evidence of age and use. There is darkening and light surface wear to the lower portion of the shaft. The burl wood handle appears well-preserved with a high-gloss finish. The foot of the stick is unfinished and lacks a protective ferrule.
