Description

A vintage scale model of the historical Zamzama cannon, widely known as Kim’s Gun. The model comprises a cast brass barrel detailed with decorative raised bands and two upper lifting rings. It is mounted upon a brass carriage featuring two large spoked wheels and a smaller trailing wheel at the rear. The entire assembly is fixed to a rectangular wooden plinth with a moulded edge and a polished finish. A perimeter fence of eight turned brass bollards joined by a white cord cordons off the cannon. An inset brass plaque on the front of the plinth bears the following inscription: ZAM – ZAMMAH, (KIM’S GUN), LAHORE. This item represents a commemorative souvenir of the 18th-century cannon situated in Lahore, which gained literary fame in Rudyard Kipling’s novel Kim.

Condition report:

The item is in good vintage condition. The brass components exhibit a natural aged patina with visible surface oxidation and tarnish throughout. The wooden plinth shows light surface scuffs and wear to the finish along the edges consistent with age. The decorative cord remains intact although it displays some minor slackening.
