Description
A cast composite sculpture depicting a nude female figure bound to a rustic wooden post or tree trunk. The subject is rendered with her hands tied behind her back at waist height and her ankles bound together. She wears a necklace and matching anklets, fashioned to appear as shell or bead jewellery. The figure is finished with an aged, cream-coloured patina to simulate the appearance of carved ivory or bone. It is mounted upon a rectangular, bevelled, dark-stained plinth. To the underside of the base is a printed yellow paper label bearing the title Esclava and a narrative description in Spanish and English identifying the figure as a maiden prepared for sacrifice in honour of the moon.
Height: approximately 30.5 cm.
Condition report:
The piece is in good overall condition. There are minor surface scuffs, small dark marks, and a build-up of dust in the deeper crevices of the carving. No major chips, cracks, or signs of restoration are apparent.
