Description
A collection of three vintage writing instruments manufactured by Aurora, Turin, Italy, attributed to the Aurora 98 series. The group consists of one gold-plated ballpoint pen and two fountain pens. The ballpoint pen features a linear engine-turned finish to the gold-plated barrel and cap, with a branded clip. The two fountain pens are constructed with brushed stainless steel or satin chrome finished barrels and caps. Both fountain pens feature hooded nibs, gold-coloured in appearance and typically manufactured in 14 carat gold for this model. The pens are accompanied by two translucent plastic cartridge caps or spacers. All three items are housed in their original Aurora branded presentation cases; one is lined with brown satin and two with gold satin. The lot includes an original instruction booklet titled AURORA ISTRUZIONI PER L’USO.
Condition report:
The pens appear to be in excellent vintage condition, possibly New Old Stock. There are minimal signs of handling or age-related wear to the metal finishes. The gold plating remains intact with no visible brassing. The internal mechanisms and filling systems have not been tested for functional operation. The presentation boxes show some light external wear consistent with storage and age but remain in good structural condition.
