Lot 8:
Description
This large ceramic figurine of a cow is naturalistically modelled in the style of mid-20th-century English potteries such as Beswick. The figure is depicted in a standing pose with detailed anatomical definition, including visible ribs and a prominent udder. It features a reddish-brown and white glaze coloration, characteristic of the Ayrshire breed, and is finished with a high-gloss glaze throughout. There are no visible manufacturer’s marks, factory stamps, or model numbers on the exterior of the piece.
Length: Approximately 46 cm to 48 cm (18 to 19 inches)
Height: Approximately 20 cm to 23 cm (8 to 9 inches).
Condition report:
The figurine appears to be in good structural condition with no visible chips, cracks, or professional repairs. There is widespread fine crazing to the glaze, which is most prominent on the white coloured areas of the body and hindquarters.
