Description

A glazed ceramic figurine of a Hereford bull, naturalistically modelled in a standing pose. The figure features a moulded, textured surface to represent a curly coat and is finished in a high-gloss glaze. It depicts the breed’s characteristic white face, chest, and lower legs against a deep reddish-brown body. The piece is attributed to Melba Ware, being a style characteristic of British animalier ceramics often produced as promotional models for butcher shop displays during the mid-20th century. No factory marks or labels are visible in the provided photographs.

Length: 14.5 cm.

Condition report:

The figurine is in generally good condition. There is a small dark mark on the left side of the muzzle which may indicate a minor glaze skip or a tiny surface chip. No other significant chips, cracks, or repairs are visible.
