Description
This lot consists of a diverse collection of decorative and collectable items. The collection includes approximately 40 miniature ceramic animal figurines featuring a wide variety of subjects such as dogs, cats, rabbits, squirrels, and a hedgehog, many of which are in the style of Wade Whimsies. A pair of Donegal Parian China spoons decorated with hand-painted floral sprays is included in a fitted green and cream-lined presentation box marked Donegal parian china. The ceramic selection further includes a blue jasperware-style biscuit barrel with white sprigged classical-style decoration and a silver-toned metal swing handle, along with a small white ceramic pitcher and other figures in traditional dress. Metalware components comprise an ornate silver-toned jewellery casket featuring repoussé scrolled floral motifs, a small vintage-style chainmail mesh purse, and a brass handbell. The lot also features several models and novelties, including a detailed miniature railway signal box, a vintage blue plastic toy spacecraft, and a set of gold-toned metal novelty trading cards featuring characters such as Charizard and Raikou. Additional miscellaneous items include a large decorative gourd featuring intricate etched and pyrographed ethnographic scenes, a wooden crucifix with a metal corpus and an INRI plaque, a polished root wood specimen, and a small wooden frame.
Condition report:
The lot is in mixed condition with signs of surface wear and ageing consistent with bulk storage. Several of the miniature ceramic figurines exhibit minor chips or losses, particularly to ears or other delicate features. The metal items show some surface tarnish and light scratching. The Donegal spoon box shows minor signs of shelf wear. The pyrographed gourd appears to be in good overall condition with some light surface marks.
