Description
A three-piece nursery set produced by the British ceramic manufacturer Wedgwood, featuring illustrations and text from Beatrix Potter’s The Tale of Peter Rabbit. The set is crafted from glazed earthenware, also known as Queensware. It consists of a mug, a cereal bowl, and a side plate, all decorated with classic transfer-printed designs. The rim of the cereal bowl is inscribed with the narrative text: But round the end of a cucumber frame, whom should he meet but Mr. McGregor!… Stop thief!. The mug depicts Peter Rabbit with his family and includes accompanying story excerpts. The collection is presented in its original illustrated cardboard packaging, which is prominently marked with the maker’s name and the set title.
Condition report:
The ceramic pieces appear to be in good, unused condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The original cardboard box shows moderate signs of shelf wear, including surface scuffing, creased corners, and small tears to the flaps, which is consistent with its age and storage.
