Lot 195:
Description
A handcrafted walking stick featuring a handle carved from dark, polished wood in the stylized form of a bird’s head, resembling an ibis or heron. The handle includes a long, tapering beak and an inlaid circular eye detail. It is joined to the shaft by two contrasting light-coloured inlay rings. The shaft is constructed from a wood displaying a prominent, dark-on-light linear grain pattern consistent with palmwood or a similar tropical hardwood. The stick is finished with a modern black rubber ferrule at the base. No maker’s marks, brand names, or country of origin labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The item is in good overall condition with some light surface scuffs and minor wear consistent with age and use. The carved handle and timber shaft remain structurally sound. The rubber ferrule is a modern addition.
