Lot 202:
Description
A large statement cocktail ring featuring a marquise-cut labradorite gemstone. The central stone is rose-cut across the crown and displays characteristic green and golden labradorescence against a greyish-green base colour. The gemstone is secured in a four-prong elevated basket setting with an openwork under-gallery. A decorative border surrounds the central stone, set with numerous small round colourless faceted stones that extend onto the split-shoulder shank. The interior of the band features an illegible rectangular mark. The metal is an untested white metal, consistent with silver.
Condition report:
The ring is in good overall condition. The central stone exhibits natural internal inclusions and surface-reaching fractures typical for labradorite. The metal shows minor surface abrasions consistent with light wear. All stones appear securely set.
