Lot 27:
Description
A trio of vintage felt souvenir pennants commemorating locations in Michigan and Canada. The collection consists of three screen-printed felt flags with contrast yellow bindings. The first pennant, in dark green, features a profile portrait of a Native American chieftain in a feathered headdress with text reading Port Huron Mich. The second pennant, in dark brown, depicts a moose in a wilderness landscape with cream-coloured script reading Windsor Canada. Web research indicates this specific Windsor design was produced during the 1940s and 1950s. The third pennant, also in dark brown, shows a figure in a canoe on a lake with text reading Sept Iles P.Q. (Quebec). Each pennant features a yellow felt hoist end, with the Windsor example retaining its original ties.
Length: Approximately 66 cm (26 inches) each.
Condition report:
The items are in fair to good vintage condition. There is visible cracking, crazing, and minor loss to the screen-printed graphics consistent with age. The felt shows some softening and light surface wear. The yellow bindings exhibit minor fraying at the edges and some discolouration.
