Description
A large ceramic seated spaniel figurine, produced in the Staffordshire style. The earthenware figure is finished in a white glaze, decorated with hand-painted copper lustre patches to the ears, body, and tail. It features a moulded collar and locket, with a lustre-painted chain draped across the chest. The face is detailed with yellow and black painted eyes and a black nose. The underside of the base features a circular firing hole and two hand-painted tally marks in black and reddish-pink. There are no manufacturer backstamps or model numbers present.
Height: Approximately 32 cm.
Condition report:
The figurine is in good overall condition, showing no signs of chips, cracks, or professional repairs. There is a small dark surface mark on the lower back. Light surface crazing is present, which is typical for glazed earthenware of this type.
