Description
This lot comprises an assortment of vintage collectables and decorative items. The selection includes a Chinese export style rectangular brass box featuring chased floral and foliate decoration. The lid is inset with a central circular medallion of carved pale green stone depicting a phoenix amongst foliage, surrounded by four raised medallions bearing the Chinese characters for prosperity, splendour, wealth, and honour. Also present is a brass-toned metal hip flask with a screw-top closure. Personal accessories include a gold-toned cylindrical case with etched floral motifs and a small rectangular compact with engraved star patterns. The collection features multiple items of vintage toys and printing sets, notably two John Bull Printing Outfit No. 4 sets in illustrated blue cardboard boxes. Printed ephemera includes a Know Your Rider speedway booklet and a selection of trading cards covering sports and Star Wars themes. Additional items consist of a brass threaded rod with a wing-nut handle, a small carved wooden object, and two worn red tool cases containing small metal hooks.
Condition report:
The items are in varied vintage condition. Paper and cardboard components show signs of age-related wear, including scuffing, creasing, and minor tearing. Metalware items exhibit surface tarnishing and light scratching consistent with age and use. The red textured tool cases are heavily distressed with significant surface loss. The lot is sold as seen in the crate.
