Lot 112:
Description
This lot comprises two mechanical mantel clocks of different designs. The larger clock is an arched bracket-style clock with a mahogany case featuring light wood stringing and decorative inlay. It is flanked by two small side columns and stands on four bun feet. The white dial displays black Arabic numerals and includes two winding holes. The rear access door contains a circular fretwork panel lined with blue fabric. Its movement is mechanical and pendulum-driven, featuring a spiral gong chime. The pendulum is present but currently detached and resting within the case. The second clock is an arched-top mantel clock, identified by the dial inscription as an Enfield clock, made in England. The dark wood case is decorated with two gilt leaf motifs at the lower corners. The white dial features black Arabic numerals and two winding holes. The rear door includes an arched panel with green fabric lining. This clock has a spring-driven mechanical movement with a spiral gong chime.
Larger clock: 32 cm (W) x 28 cm (H) approx.
Enfield clock: 23 cm (H) approx.
Condition report:
Both clocks show signs of age-related wear, including minor surface scuffs and scratches to the wooden cases. The larger clock has a detached pendulum. The Enfield clock shows some rubbing to the gilt leaf motifs. Both movements are untested and their mechanical working order is not guaranteed.
