Lot 50:
Description
A three-piece transverse concert flute comprising a headjoint, body, and C-footjoint. The instrument features a closed-hole plateau key system and is constructed from silver-plated metal, likely nickel silver. No maker’s mark or serial number is visible on the instrument sections. The flute is housed in a black hard-shell plastic case with a blue velvet-lined interior, bearing a retailer label for Rosehill Instruments, Beaconsfield, UK.
Case length: approximately 16.5 inches (42 cm).
Condition report:
The instrument is in used condition with visible surface tarnish and wear to the plating throughout. Notably, the tenon of the headjoint shows significant wear, revealing the brass-coloured base metal. While pads and corks appear present, the mechanical and playing condition of the flute is untested. The case is in fair condition with external scuffs and signs of age; the metal latches and handle are functional.
