Description
A set of Hornby O gauge M0 type railway items manufactured by Meccano Ltd. The collection features a clockwork 0-4-0 steam locomotive finished in green lithographed livery with black accents, a matching green tender numbered 2595 in yellow script, and two four-wheel open wagons with red wood-plank effect lithographed sides on black bases. The interior of the locomotive cab is printed with the mark MADE IN ENGLAND BY MECCANO LTD. The locomotive is equipped with a clockwork motor with a winding aperture located on the right-hand side. All components are constructed from lithographed tinplate and retain their original hook-and-link couplings.
Total length: approximately 18 inches.
Condition report:
The set is in played-with condition with significant paint wear, scratching, and areas of paint loss across all pieces, particularly on the roof and boiler of the locomotive. Minor surface oxidation is present on the wheels and exposed metal areas. The lithography on the wagons shows typical wear and scuffing consistent with age. A winding key is not included and the functionality of the clockwork mechanism has not been tested.
