Description

This lot comprises a collection of assorted timepieces, featuring a mid-20th-century Swiss desk clock and several miniature novelty quartz clocks. The principal item is a Swiza desk clock with a rectangular gilt metal frame, characterised by a beaded border and an inset maroon velvet-textured panel. The clock possesses an oval silvered dial with black Roman numeral hour markers and blackened hands. It is marked Swiza 8 to the upper dial and Swiss Made to the base, denoting an eight-day mechanical movement. The collection further includes five miniature novelty clocks fashioned from cast metal with a polished gold-tone finish. The forms represented include a motorcycle, a fire engine with an extending ladder, a propeller airplane, a small dome-top mantel clock, and a rectangular bracket-style clock. The dials of the dome-top, bracket, airplane, and fire engine models are marked Renaissance Quartz.

Total width of grouping as displayed approximately 50 cm.

Condition report:

The items appear to be in good overall aesthetic condition with minor surface wear, light tarnish, and faint scratches consistent with age and handling. The maroon velvet panel on the Swiza clock shows minor age-related fading. All timepieces are sold as seen and have not been tested for mechanical or electronic functionality.
