Description
A collection of UK commemorative and decimal coinage comprising various struck sets and individual issues from the mid to late 20th century. The lot includes multiple 1990 five-pound (£5) cupro-nickel commemorative crown-sized coins celebrating the 90th birthday of H.M. Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, each housed in its original white card folder. Also included are several 1977 Silver Jubilee twenty-five pence (crown) cupro-nickel coins, each presented in a clear plastic protective case. A framed set titled QUEEN ELIZABETH II HALFCROWNS 1951-1967 features several cupro-nickel halfcrown coins mounted in a red card insert behind a clear display panel. Additionally, a Britains First Decimal Coins set in its original blue folder is present, containing five early decimal denominations: bronze 1/2p, 1p, and 2p, and cupro-nickel 5p and 10p.
Crown-sized coins diameter: approximately 38mm.
Condition report:
The coins are in uncirculated to high-grade circulated condition, with many examples retaining original mint lustre. Packaging and folders exhibit minor age-related wear, including light scuffing, slight yellowing to card surfaces, and minor surface scratches to the plastic cases. The plastic casing of the halfcrown set shows a visible crack to the upper left corner.
