Description
This lot comprises three vintage-style brass handheld telescopes and a separate wooden presentation box. The largest instrument is a single-draw Tasco telescope featuring a brass body with a burgundy textured wrap. The brass collar at the objective lens end is engraved with the mark tasco 25x30mm and includes a sliding brass cover for the eyepiece. The collection further includes a slender three-draw telescope with a black textured wrap and a compact two-draw telescope with a dark brown textured wrap. The separate rectangular hardwood presentation box features decorative brass corner inlays and a blue felt interior lining.
Tasco telescope extended: 13 – 14 inches
Three-draw telescope extended: 8 – 9 inches
Two-draw telescope extended: 7 inches.
Condition report:
All items are in used vintage condition. There is visible tarnish and surface patina on all brass components. The textured wraps show various signs of wear, particularly the black wrap on the slender telescope which exhibits surface scuffing and minor lifting. All draw tubes slide freely. Optical clarity and magnification have not been professionally tested. The wooden box shows light surface marks consistent with age.
