Description
A small-scale decorative landscape painting executed in oil on board. The composition depicts a romanticised view of a fortified tower or keep situated by a body of water, flanked by mature trees. The work exhibits prominent, textured brushwork with notable impasto highlights in the clouds and foliage. The painting is inscribed with a signature in the lower right quadrant, appearing to read V D n followed by a cursive flourish. The artwork is housed in an octagonal dark-stained wood frame featuring a mustard-yellow velvet-textured slip and a gold-toned rope-twist oval inner border. The verso is covered in red flocked paper with a small metal hanging loop at the top.

Condition report:
The work is in generally good condition. There is some minor surface dirt to the painting and velvet slip. The frame shows light scuffing and minor wear to the edges. The red flocked backing paper shows slight signs of age and wear.
