Description

An Art Deco style novelty teapot in the form of a streamlined racing car, attributed to James Sadler and Sons of Staffordshire. The piece is constructed from cream-coloured glazed earthenware. The design features a recessed lid surmounted by a moulded figure of a driver and a steering wheel. The handle is integrally moulded into the rear aerodynamic tail of the car, and the spout emerges from the front bonnet. This form is characteristic of the mid-20th-century novelty designs by James Sadler. No manufacturer marks or backstamps are visible in the images provided.

Length: 23 cm
Height: 12 cm.

Condition report:

The teapot is in good overall condition. There are minor dark specks and firing imperfections present in the glaze, consistent with the manufacturing process. No chips, cracks, or visible repairs are apparent from the provided images.
