Description
A set of five fine white porcelain small dishes, likely mame-zara or side plates, manufactured by the Koransha factory in Arita, Japan. Each circular dish features a scalloped rim finished with a fine gilded edge. The set is decorated with individual naturalistic motifs in a delicate polychrome enamel palette, depicting butterflies, dragonflies, swallows, small birds, and small fish. The reverse of each dish is marked in underglaze brown with the three characters for Koransha (香蘭社) positioned above the factorys stylised orchid flower logo. The collection is housed in its original white-painted wooden storage and presentation box, lined with pale green satin and secured with a metal latch.

Condition report:
The porcelain dishes appear to be in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or professional restoration. The gilded decoration to the rims remains intact and well-preserved. The wooden presentation box exhibits minor surface wear, light scuffing, and signs of age consistent with storage, but remains structurally sound.
