Description

This lot consists of three vintage Manchester United football match programmes spanning the years 1968 to 1979.

The first item is the official programme for the 1968 European Cup Final, Benfica vs. Manchester United, held at Wembley Empire Stadium on Wednesday, 29th May 1968. This programme commemorates the club’s first European Cup victory. The cover design features the crests of both finalists on red and white triangular motifs.

The second item is an official souvenir programme for the 1979 FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Manchester United, played at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, 12th May 1979. The cover depicts the FA Cup trophy on a grass background.

The third item is an official matchday programme for the Football League Cup 2nd Round tie, Ipswich Town vs. Manchester United, dated Tuesday, 7th September 1971. The interior contains a full-page black and white team photograph of the Manchester United 1971-72 squad, featuring legendary players such as George Best, Sir Bobby Charlton, and Denis Law. This page bears a signature in blue ink across the bottom, identified as Sir Matt Busby. No independent certificate of authenticity is present.

Condition report:

The 1968 European Cup Final programme shows typical signs of age, including creasing to the covers and minor edge wear. The 1971 Ipswich programme exhibits general handling wear and minor toning consistent with its age; the signature remains clear and distinct. The 1979 FA Cup Final programme is housed in a protective plastic sleeve and appears to be in good overall condition.
