Description
A collection of vintage mid-20th-century art periodicals primarily from The Masters series, published by Knowledge Publications (Purnell and Sons Ltd) in the United Kingdom during the 1960s. This lot includes various weekly serial publications dedicated to significant artists and art historical themes. Identifiable titles within the group include Constable, Rembrandt, Paul Klee, Botticelli, Michelangelo (specifically featuring The Last Judgment), Masterpieces of Italian Painting, and El Greco. The publications are produced as large-format paper folios, each containing offset lithographic colour plate reproductions of famous artworks intended for educational and collectable purposes. Several issues remain housed in their original protective cellophane sleeves. These are mass-produced commercial editions and do not contain hand-signatures or limited edition numbering.

The collection is in fair condition, consistent with age and use as weekly periodicals. Visible toning and yellowing are present along the paper edges and covers. General handling creases and minor shelf wear are evident across the lot, with more significant creasing noted on the lower edge of the Michelangelo issue. Some cellophane sleeves show signs of age-related wear and dust.
