Lot 207:
Description
A mid-century modern polychrome art glass bowl or desk accessory, produced in the style of Murano glassmakers. The object is of substantial, thick-walled construction with an organic, rounded oval form. The primary glass body features a pale citron-yellow tint and contains four deep, recessed wells arranged in a grid pattern. Each well displays a distinct submerged layer of colour, comprising amber-yellow, emerald green, cobalt blue, and amethyst purple, utilising the sommerso technique. The base is ground and polished flat. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the piece. Visually identical items are frequently attributed to Seguso Vetri D’Arte or associated with the work of Alessandro Mandruzzato.
Length: Approximately 17 cm.
Condition report:
The item is in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or deep abrasions to the upper surfaces. Light shelf-wear and minor surface scratches are present on the polished base, consistent with age and typical of heavy art glass items.
