Description
A collection of vintage numismatic accessories and portable coin dispensers. The assortment includes a double-lidded coin holder in tarnished silver-toned metal featuring a fob ring and containing two gold-coloured coins; the obverse of one coin depicts the young head of Queen Victoria and the reverse of the other shows a crowned shield, consistent with a UK sovereign and half-sovereign. A second double holder in polished white metal contains two tokens or coins marked with stylized denominations 1s and 1/2s. A rectangular silver-toned dispenser is decorated with floral scrollwork engraving and contains apertures for various denominations including ONE SOVEREIGN and HALF SOVEREIGN; it holds a gold-coloured coin with the visible obverse legend FRANC. D. G. AVST. I. IMP. ET. HVN. BOH. REX., identifying it as an Austrian imperial issue, likely a Ducat of Francis II. The collection is completed by a cylindrical metal bank with a coin slot, stamped MAGIC POCKET BANK, PAT. AUG 26 90, and MADE IN U.S.A.
Condition report:
The items show varying degrees of age-related wear. The silver-toned holders exhibit significant surface tarnish, oxidation, and areas of plating loss. The rectangular dispenser shows surface scratches and tarnish. The cylindrical bank displays a dulled finish and surface oxidation. The coins are in circulated condition with visible surface marks and edge wear.
