Description
A collection of vintage and modern dolls and miniature figures, accompanied by a specialist reference book. The lot includes an Ashton-Drake Galleries Good as Gold miniature doll from the Sweet as You Please collection by artist Dorothy Steven. This vinyl or resin figure features fixed closed eyes and is dressed in a yellow faux-fur hooded suit and matching knit booties; it is accompanied by its original Certificate of Authenticity, hangtag, and box. Also included is a hardcover copy of British Hard Plastic Dolls of the 1940s & 1950s by Frances Baird. The vintage pieces consist of a composition character doll with a cloth body and painted features dressed in a black jacket and wooden clogs, a hard plastic doll with sleep eyes in a yellow dress, and a vinyl baby doll in pink pyjamas housed in a cardboard box. A further assortment of seven miniature dolls in various materials includes figures in traditional costumes, a black doll with painted features, and several infants.

Condition report:
The Ashton-Drake doll is in excellent, boxed condition. The composition doll exhibits significant crazing and surface wear to the head and hands. Other vintage items show minor surface dust and wear commensurate with age. The reference book is in good used condition.
