Description
Two Royal Doulton glazed porcelain figurines comprising Top O’ The Hill (HN 1834) and Holly (HN 3647). Both items feature polychrome decoration with a high gloss glaze finish.
The first figurine, Top O’ The Hill, was originally designed by Leslie Harradine. It depicts a female figure in a wind-swept pose, wearing a voluminous red dress that reveals a white ruffled petticoat, and a wide-brimmed red hat with a green lining and blue ribbon. The underside features a circular Royal Doulton backstamp with a lion and crown, including the model number HN 1834, the title Top O’ The Hill, a copyright date of 1937, and a hand-painted green mark.
The second figurine, Holly, was designed by Nada M. Pedley. It depicts a standing female figure wearing a red jacket with a pink ruffled collar, a full green skirt with a raised texture, and a black top hat with green and pink ribbon accents. The base bears the circular Royal Doulton backstamp with a lion and crown, the model number HN 3647, the title Holly, a copyright date of 1994, and hand-painted black and pink marks.
Height: Top O’ The Hill approximately 18 cm; Holly approximately 19 cm.
Condition report:
Both figurines are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, crazing, or evidence of restoration.
