Description
A trio of vintage brass-cased mantel clocks, each featuring distinct movements and styling. The collection includes a Bentima torsion or anniversary mantel clock housed in a brass and glass case with a curved front panel, four pointed finials, and a large top loop handle. The white circular dial is printed with the maker Bentima and FOREIGN at the base, featuring elongated gold-tone indices. It contains a mechanical movement with a visible four-ball torsion pendulum and includes a winding key. The second clock is a small oval quartz mantel clock with a brass and glass case and a horizontal carrying handle. The gold-tone dial features black Roman numerals and is marked QUARTZ below the centre. The third item is a Schatz carriage-style 8-day mantel clock with a rectangular brass case, featuring etched scrollwork on the glass panels and a textured, hammered-effect base. The dial is marked Schatz, 8 DAY, and MADE IN WEST GERMANY. The rear movement plate is stamped with SCHATZ & SOHNE, 59, 74, and MADE IN GERMANY.
Bentima clock: 10.5 inches high, 7.5 inches wide
Schatz clock: 6.5 inches high, 3.5 inches wide
Quartz clock: 5.5 inches high, 3.5 inches wide.
Condition report:
All items show visible surface tarnishing and patina to the brass components consistent with age. There is general surface wear and accumulated dust present. The clocks are sold as untested for mechanical function or timekeeping accuracy.
