Description
A collection consisting of two vintage leather pouches. The first is a branded locking night deposit bag for Midland Bank Limited. It is constructed with a dark brown textured leather exterior, a rigid circular base, and a full-perimeter zipper. The side is silver-stamped with the bank name and the serial number PB 10,582. It features an integrated circular brass lock, also stamped with the matching number PB 10,582 below the keyhole. The second item is a tan leather drawstring pouch with a stiffened circular base and soft gathered leather upper. It is secured by dual-pull braided brown cords through metal-rimmed eyelets. While catalogued as a deposit pouch, the design is visually consistent with a late Victorian or Edwardian gentleman’s collar box.

Condition report:
Both items exhibit signs of moderate to heavy wear consistent with age and use. The Midland Bank bag shows significant scuffing, leather creasing, and surface abrasions from commercial handling. The brass lock is tarnished and shows light scratches; no key is included. The tan pouch has a noticeable surface patina and darkening, particularly on the base and upper rim, along with minor staining to the underside. Both structures remain sound.
