Description
This lot comprises an antique wooden drum canteen and a Western-style bolo tie. The canteen is of coopered construction, formed by wooden staves and flat circular side panels held together by two interlocking wooden hoops. The spout is set within a square wooden reinforcement block and retains a brass thumb-turn stopper with a circular ring top. It is fitted with a wide, white canvas webbing strap secured by iron bands and rivets. No visible maker marks, stamps, or labels were found on the surfaces of either item.
The accompanying bolo tie features a braided black cord with metal tips and a copper-toned slide cast in the form of a horse in profile.

Condition report:
The canteen is in good antique condition. The wood exhibits a dark aged patina, scattered staining, and minor drying cracks consistent with age. The wooden hoops and staves are secure and intact. Brass and iron components show significant oxidation and a deep patina. The canvas strap remains intact with minor fraying and areas of light discolouration. The bolo tie shows minor wear to the metal finish of the horse slide.
