Description
This is a mid-20th-century British extension speaker, identified as the Mayfair model from the Stentorian range produced by Whiteley Electrical Radio Co Ltd. The unit features a rounded, rectangular cabinet constructed from light-finished wood veneer. The front presents a central aperture with a light brown textured fabric grille and a cream-coloured inner border. It stands on an integrated wooden plinth base. The reverse features a dark brown backboard with two circular ventilation ports and a series of four sockets for connection. The back panel bears printed text including the maker name, model, and instructions for use as a low impedance extension speaker. It includes labels for sockets A/E, B, G, and D, with a note stating that socket D is for long arm remote control. A circular ink inspection stamp reading INSP 18 is visible on the lower left.

Condition report:
The wooden cabinet shows signs of age and use, including scuffs and scratches to the finish, particularly along the top and side edges. The internal electrical components are untested and the item is sold as a collector piece for decorative or restoration purposes.
