Description
A collection of thirteen vintage enamel lapel badges issued as promotional items by Robertson’s (Golden Shred) between the 1970s and 1990s. The badges are manufactured from gold-tone base metal with multi-coloured enamel decoration. The assortment features the brand mascot in various professional and recreational roles: a cheerleader with a purple G top and yellow pom-poms; a chef or waiter with a yellow tray; a knight in armour with a St George’s Cross shield; a uniformed figure in dark blue; a standard figure in a yellow waistcoat, blue jacket, and red trousers; a farmer or shepherd with a staff; an artist with a red beret, palette, and brush; a delivery person with a blue cap and shoulder bag; a Viking with a horned helmet, shield, and axe; an ice hockey player with a helmet and stick; a painter or decorator in blue overalls with a paintbrush; a rockstar or guitarist playing a yellow V-style guitar; and a scarecrow in tattered clothing. The reverses are not visible but typically bear manufacturer marks such as Grout, Fattorini, or R.E.V. Gomm.
Condition report:
The enamel surfaces of all thirteen badges are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or significant loss. The gold-tone metal plating exhibits minor surface wear and light scratching consistent with age and handling. All pins and clasps appear to be present and functional.
