Lot 14:
Description
A student-level concert flute outfit by Sonata, constructed from silver-plated nickel silver. The instrument comprises four sections including a main body with closed-hole keys, a C-footjoint, a standard straight headjoint, and an additional curved headjoint designed to facilitate a shorter reach for younger players. The main body and one headjoint bear an engraved Sonata logo within an oval border. The instrument is housed in its original black fabric-covered, zippered hard-shell case featuring a moulded plush-lined interior and a printed Sonata logo on the exterior.
Case length: 17 inches (approx. 43 cm).
Condition report:
The instrument displays significant tarnishing and surface oxidation across all metal components. The tenons show heavy surface residue and discolouration. While yellow bladder pads are present, their airtight integrity has not been tested. The mechanical action of the keys has not been professionally assessed for regulation. The case shows minor external scuffing and dust accumulation within the interior lining; the zipper is functional.
