Description

A decorative silver-gilt and cloisonné enamel spoon, likely a coffee or demitasse size. The reverse of the egg-shaped bowl is decorated with intricate scrolling silver wire filigree forming cells filled with white and light blue enamel. The stem is constructed with a series of knops, including sections decorated in matching enamel, culminating in a flared, flat-topped terminal also featuring scrolling filigree and enamel work. The interior of the bowl and portions of the stem are gilded. Hallmarks are present on the interior surface of the bowl but are not clearly legible in the provided photographs. No other markings are visible on the stem.

Condition report:

The enamel appears to be largely intact with no significant losses visible. There is visible tarnishing and surface wear to the silver and the gilded interior of the bowl. Minor surface scratches are present, consistent with age and use.
