Description
This collection includes several metal items of decorative and utilitarian interest. The group features two silver-plated entrée dishes, one rectangular and one oval. Both dishes are designed in a classical style with beaded gadrooned borders and removable foliated loop handles. The mechanical travel clock is marked EUROPA and 2 JEWELS on the dial, with MADE IN GERMANY along the bottom edge. It is housed in a gold-tone frame with two folding silver-tone side panels decorated with etched crustacean motifs.
Rectangular dish: 28 cm length
Oval dish: 30.5 cm length.
Condition report:
The silver-plated entrée dishes show significant surface tarnish and heavy oxidation throughout, with some wear to the plating on high points. The travel clock metal case exhibits surface wear and oxidation; the movement is untested. The brass tripod vessel has an aged patina and minor surface pitting.
