Description
A trio of decorative sculptures comprising a bonded marble group after Auguste Rodin’s ‘The Kiss’, a patinated metal figure of Aphrodite, and a composite figure after Michelangelo’s ‘David’. The group depicting ‘The Kiss’ is rendered in a cream composite material and is mounted upon a stepped, black and white veined marble base; the reverse of the base is incised with the signature F.S. PINTINI. The figure of Aphrodite, after the Venus de Milo, is cast in metal with a bronze-effect patina and verdigris highlights, mounted on a dark stone plinth with a plaque inscribed APHRODITE / 300 B.C. / MADE IN GREECE B.M. The figure of ‘David’ is a standard casting in a cream-toned composite material.

Aphrodite: 22 cm tall
The Kiss: 22 cm tall.
Condition report:
The items exhibit general surface dust and handling marks. The Aphrodite figure shows significant rubbing to the bronze patina on high points including the breasts, knees, and face, revealing the bright metal underneath. Green verdigris oxidation is present within the folds of the drapery. The marble base of \'The Kiss\' has minor fleabite chips along the sharp edges and corners. The David figure has some darkened surface deposits in the recesses.
