Description
An assortment of British military and civilian documents, instructional booklets, and association badges, primarily dating from the mid-20th century. The collection features a copy of The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders Standing Orders and Customs of the Regiment Part I, containing a verified ink signature on the interior flyleaf from Major General Douglas Wimberley, Colonel of the regiment, dated October 1955. This booklet includes a light blue printed insert with lyrics for The March of the Cameron Men and Pibroch o’ Donuil Dubh. Also present is a Naval Ratings’ Handbook (B.R. 1938, 1975 edition). Personal military and civilian items include an Army Book 64 Soldier’s Service and Pay Book and a United Kingdom National Registration Identity Card. A series of technical documents comprises typed nomenclature sheets for the Vickers .303 Mk. VI machine gun, bearing the handwritten name 1824397 L/Cpl Cassidy, data sheets for the Thompson .45 Model 1928 A.C. carbine, and armament specifications for Medium Tanks Mk III, Light Tanks Mk II, IIA and III, and Crossley Armoured Cars. Further printed material includes Instructions for Armourers 1931 amendments dated 1st January 1941, an exercise book containing handwritten technical notes, and a brown leatherette pouch. The lot is completed by a group of enamel and metal badges, including Delegate and Visitor bars, Royal British Legion Annual Conference and Women’s Section pins, a commemorative poppy pin, and a multi-coloured ribbon bar.

Condition report:
The lot shows significant signs of age and use consistent with service life. The Army Book 64 exhibits heavy fraying and wear to the cloth-covered exterior. Loose paper documents and technical sheets show yellowing, foxing, and occasional creasing. The regimental standing orders booklet has a vertical crease to the front cover. Enamel badges remain in generally good condition with minor surface wear and light patination to the metal components.
