Description
This lot comprises two stereoscopic viewers and an assortment of reels. The first viewer is a Sawyer’s View-Master Model C, manufactured from black Bakelite with a characteristic square body and a metal side lever for reel advancement. The second viewer is a red plastic View-Master, identified as a Model L. Included is an original cardboard manufacturer’s box for a Model G viewer, marked Sawyer’s Inc. Portland 7, Oregon U.S.A. The lot further contains an assortment of approximately 10 View-Master reels in their original paper sleeves. Titles visible on the sleeves include 7 More Wonders of the World, Winter in Arosa Switzerland, and William Tell’s Country Lake Lucerne Switzerland. The sleeves are printed with the text 7 Three-Dimensional Pictures in Full-Colour Kodachrome.
Width (black viewer): approximately 12cm.
Condition report:
The Model C viewer is in good cosmetic condition with a glossy finish showing light surface scratches and minor signs of age-related oxidation to metal components. The red viewer is in excellent condition with no significant wear. The cardboard box is mismatched to the included viewers and shows moderate edge wear, fraying at the corners, and creasing. The reel sleeves show age-related toning and minor handling wear. Both viewers appear functional.
