Description
An assortment of natural mineral specimens, polished gemstones, and decorative glass presented in a rectangular wooden box. The collection includes a large amethyst druzy cluster and a rough slab of labradorite exhibiting blue labradorescence. Tumbled and polished stones include tiger’s eye, blue lace agate, clear quartz, and carnelian or red jasper. The set also features various rough mineral fragments, including a piece of volcanic scoria and dark mineral specimens, alongside a man-made translucent blue glass pebble. The wooden box features hand-carved floral and foliate borders on the lid and front panel, constructed with a hinged lid and a simple metal latch. The interior of the box is unlined.
Width: approximately 18 cm – 20 cm.
Condition report:
The mineral specimens show natural internal fractures and inclusions consistent with their geological origin. Polished stones exhibit minor surface wear and light abrasions from contact during storage. The amethyst cluster appears largely intact. The wooden box is in fair to good condition, with surface dust, minor scuffs to the wood, and slight tarnishing to the metal hardware.
