Description
An oval brooch featuring a large cabochon cut amethyst. The gemstone is a banded or chevron variety, displaying distinct purple and white quartz colour zones and natural internal crystalline structures. The stone is secured in a bezel setting within a white metal frame, which is finished with a decorative beaded outer border. The reverse of the brooch is fitted with a simple C-clasp and a long pin mechanism. The pin extends slightly beyond the width of the brooch frame. No maker marks or hallmarks are visible on the piece.
Condition report:
The brooch is in good overall condition. The amethyst cabochon is intact and secure in the setting with no visible chips or cracks. The white metal frame shows a dark patina and light surface wear consistent with age. The pin mechanism is functional, although the pin itself exhibits a slight curve.
