Description
A collection of vintage and modern powder compacts and vanity accessories, featuring examples from makers including Stratton, Kigu, and Swarovski. The lot contains a diverse array of items such as a large Stratton gold-tone peacock accessory with multi-coloured enamel in its original orange and white presentation box, a Kigu circular compact with a fruit-motif central medallion on a cream ground with a dark red enamel border, and a gold-tone Swarovski compact bearing a label marked Made with CRYSTALLIZED – Swarovski Elements. Novelty designs include a fan-shaped gold-tone compact with engraved foliate patterns, a shell-shaped compact, and a heart-shaped example decorated with an enamel Union Jack flag. The collection also includes several metal compacts with engine-turned and embossed floral decoration, a burgundy ribbed lucite vanity case, and compacts with petit-point floral embroidery. Other items include a lavender-coloured box from Pia containing a vanity accessory. Metal finishes across the lot include gold-tone and silver-tone plating. Condition report:
Overall good vintage condition. Items show varying degrees of surface wear, light scratches, and tarnishing to the metal surfaces consistent with age and use. The enamel decoration on the featured pieces appears largely intact with no significant losses visible. Mirrors and internal mechanisms are present but have not been individually tested for functionality. The Pia box shows minor exterior wear and handling marks.
