Description
A Silver statement ring featuring a large square cushion-cut purple amethyst. The gemstone is held in a high-profile four-prong claw setting, positioned above a gallery decorated with pierced openwork scroll motifs. The shoulders continue this decorative theme with similar pierced scrollwork. The substantial wide band tapers toward the base and shows a dark natural patina within the recesses of the design. The interior of the shank is stamped with the characters 925 and an illegible maker mark.
Face Width: 25 mm.
Condition report:
The metal shows significant surface tarnish and dark patina, particularly within the recessed areas of the openwork design (photo 2). There are minor surface scratches and signs of wear to the silver shank (photo 3). The gemstone shows minor abrasions and flea bites to some facet edges (photo 1). Accumulated dust and residue are visible underneath the gemstone setting (photo 3).
