Description

A late 19th century Silver Plated Goliath pocket watch featuring a white enamel dial with black Roman numeral hour markers and an outer railroad minute track. The dial comprises a subsidiary seconds dial at the six o’clock position with Arabic numerals and blued steel spade hands. The mechanical manual wind movement is housed in a circular case with a ribbed winding crown and a large circular bow. The watch is presented in a square wood-bodied travelling case covered in textured black leather, featuring a circular aperture to the front and a fold-out strut to the reverse. The dial is printed with the characters FATTORINI & SONS above the centre and BRADFORD below. There are small, illegible characters along the bottom edge of the dial.

Condition report:

Hairline cracks are visible on the enamel dial, extending from the centre toward the two o\'clock and five o\'clock positions (photo 2). Noticeable wear and loss of finish to the metal watch case, particularly around the bezel (photo 2). The leather travelling case shows significant scuffing and loss of leather at all four corners and along the edges, exposing the underlying carcass (photo 1, 3). The rear fold-out strut is present but shows wear (photo 3).
