Lot 280:
Description
A collection of two vintage plastic and metal camcorders comprising a Sony Video 8 AF and a Minolta 8 8100E. The Sony unit features a top handle marked SONY and a cassette compartment cover bearing the text Video 8 AF with a multi-coloured graphic and the characters PAL. The body includes a connection point marked VIEWFINDER and a lower front section marked SONY. The Minolta 8 8100E features a shoulder strap marked MINOLTA and a lens barrel marked TV ZOOM LENS and AF. Included are two black hard-shell carry cases with foam inserts, a Sony RFU-85 instruction manual, and a Minolta 8 8100E owner’s manual containing handwritten service notes. Associated accessories include multiple battery packs, such as a Minolta BP-810 and a Vivanco pack with handwritten annotations reading OLD and OK, one Fuji PS-90 Video 8 cassette tape, and white in-ear headphones.
Condition report:
Both units are in used, untested condition. Significant surface dust is visible across the bodies of both camcorders (photo 1 and 2). The Minolta unit is missing its lens cap and shows accumulated dust on the front lens element (photo 3). The carry cases and manuals show surface wear, minor staining, and creasing from long-term storage (photo 4 and 5). Functional status is unverified and batteries are expected to be at the end of their service life.
