Lot 162:
Description
A vintage Wood and Plastic flipper bagatelle game featuring a vibrant jungle-themed playfield. The board is decorated with illustrations of various wild animals including an elephant, rhinoceros, giraffe, tiger, leopard, monkeys, and a hippopotamus, surrounding a central figure of a man in a rowboat. The playfield includes nine circular scoring holes, each sheltered by a red plastic conical hood and marked with point values ranging from 10 to 1000. The mechanical components comprise a spring-loaded plunger and two red plastic manual flippers at the base. The lower left corner features a printed logo with a stylised D and text reading D DEKKER LTD., LONDON. The lower right bears a printed label reading FLIPPER BAGATELLE from the DEKKERTOYS range MADE IN ENGLAND. The frame is constructed from red-painted wood with a composite wood backing board.
Height: 76 cm.
Condition report:
The wooden frame exhibits visible scuffing and paint loss along the top and side edges (photo 1). The printed playfield graphic remains vibrant with minimal fading, although light surface wear is present consistent with age. All red plastic conical hoods and both flippers appear intact. The plunger mechanism is present, though no ball is included. The blue plastic components at the plunger housing are intact.
