Description
A decorative non-firing over-under flintlock style pistol featuring two side-by-side barrels with a blued finish and a brass lock mechanism. The frame and lock plates are decorated with deep relief scrollwork engraving, and the cock and frizzen are functional for display purposes. The grip and forend are constructed from an off-white resin moulded to simulate carved ivory, featuring intricate floral and foliate patterns. The left side of the grip features an inset brass plate bearing a decorative inscription. The item is accompanied by two wooden ramrods with brass tips, one of which is stored in a channel between the barrels. This item is a non-functional decorative replica and is not a dischargeable firearm. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The metal components exhibit a dark blued finish to the barrels and a brass patina to the lock, with some minor surface wear and small areas of green verdigris oxidation present on the lower lock components. The synthetic resin grips remain intact with no visible cracks, showing a uniform off-white colour. The mock flintlock action appears to cycle mechanically, though it is non-functional. Both wooden ramrods are present and in good order.
