Description
A Silver coloured steel cash box featuring a hammered crackle finish and a hinged lid with a recessed fold-down metal handle. The interior contains a removable black plastic tray divided into six compartments for coin sorting. The inside of the lid bears a black rectangular plaque with the white capital letters W H S M I T H. The lock mechanism is supplied with three keys on a split ring, including one stamped with the word UNION. A rectangular paper label is adhered to the upper left corner of the lid, featuring handwritten text reading No. 2729 a and Name Anne M. Edwards.

Condition report:
The box shows surface wear consistent with use, including small chips to the silver finish along the front edge of the lid and base (photo 1). The interior plastic tray displays light scuffing and superficial scratches to the base of the compartments (photo 1). There is a small area of finish loss or residue on the lower left front of the base (photo 3). The keys and lock mechanism appear intact and functional.
