Description
A contemporary Peter Hayes ceramic sculpture of flattened ovoid form, finished with a textured and weathered surface. The body features incised grid patterns and dark mineral staining, intersected by a translucent sage-green glass band fused horizontally through the centre. The upper edge is detailed with a small central notch. The ceramic element is mounted on a separate square dark gray slate plinth. The base bears a hand-incised signature reading Peter Hayes.

Condition report:
The sculpture and glass element appear to be in good original condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs (photos 1 and 3). The textured and weathered surface, including the mineral staining and surface irregularities, is a deliberate design feature of the artist\'s raku technique (photo 1). The slate base shows no significant wear (photo 2).
