Description

A novelty brass desk alarm clock by Swiza, modelled in the form of a skeleton key. The clock features a circular white dial with a gold chapter ring and black Roman numerals, set within a brass housing. The mechanism is a Swiss 8-day mechanical wind movement, with the rear of the case featuring a central winding key and a smaller knob for the alarm function. The decorative bow of the key acts as a handle, while the bit serves as a stable base for display. The dial is marked SWIZA 8 and SWISS MADE. Accompanied by a Timemaster travel alarm clock housed in a brown leather-covered folding case. The square white dial features gold Arabic numerals, a day-date aperture at the 3 o’clock position, and luminous hands. The dial is marked Timemaster, Auto Calendar Alarm Clock, and GREAT BRITAIN.

Length: 11 cm
Width: 7.5 cm.

Condition report:

The Swiza clock displays visible surface wear and patination to the brass finish, particularly on the rear and the key bit (photo 2). The Timemaster clock shows significant wear and loss to the gilt finish on the bezel (photo 1). The interior lining of the travel case shows age-related deterioration and staining, and the exterior leather case has scuffing to the edges (photo 2). The mechanical movements and calendar functions are untested.
